Food Safety Training for Georgia's Finest Food Establishments
Terri R.Waller, Terri Waller, Benson Mills GroupAs the owner or manager of a food service establishment committed to success, you simply cannot afford any shortcomings in the cleanliness of your facility.  The last thing you need is for a bad health inspection report on the evening news to scare customers away from your establishment! To stay ahead in Georgia's highly competitive food service industry, your facility must maintain the highest standards of cleanliness to keep customers coming through the doors.

The State of Georgia requires that each food service establishment have an owner or at least one manager on staff, designated for that one establishment, who has successfully completed an approved food safety training program and passed a professionally validated, accredited Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) exam.  CFSMs must maintain and renew certification in accordance with the requirements of the examination taken.

Our Unique Approach to Food Safety Training

Before Class
  • Participants will receive materials in advance of the class date to allow time for pre-class preparation and study.
  • Upon registration, students are immediately assigned an instructor.
  • Students may contact their assigned instructor before their training date; allowing them the opportunity to receive explanation or clarification in any area in which they may be experiencing difficulty during the studying process.
The Day of Class
  • The instructor leads a review of the entire study manual.
  • We recognize that students learn differently and avoid using a “cookie cutter” approach to instruction.   We utilize various interactive and hands-on training methods that are designed to fully engage the students. Training methods include but are not limited to Power Point presentations, videos & DVDs, use of training aids, demonstrations, guided discussions and frequent comprehension testing through information black board challenges and team interaction.
  • At the end of class the student complete a multiple-choice exam.
  • Students who pass the exam are awarded certification.
  • The instructor tracks results and make recommendations to improve your establishment's food safety program.

"After being in food service for over 15 years this class has been the most informative food safety class I've taken.  The class was not boring, Terri kept us involved through hands on training.  Terri is very knowledgeable and informative.  In five years when my certification expires.  I will definitely take this class again.  G. "Terri is very professional, the way she explained and interacted with the students.  I took this class before and it was extremely boring.  She asked questions, use different things that make students get involved.  C. Figueroa

"We were a room of diverse people with diverse food experience; Terri did a great job at explaining the material at all levels.  There was a good mixture in her teaching style and interaction forcing us to get up and not sit in a chair during the entire class.  I think she kept the class going enough to make it great."
